SATTB Code of Conduct

Summary:

Expected behavior and conduct standards for players, coaches, and officials at SATTB events.

All participants in SATTB events must adhere to the Code of Conduct:

**General Principles:**
- Respect for opponents, officials, and spectators
- Fair play and sportsmanship at all times
- Compliance with rules and regulations
- Respect for equipment and facilities

**Player Conduct:**
1. **During Matches:**
- Shake hands before and after matches
- Accept umpire decisions without protest
- No coaching during play (except timeouts)
- Avoid unsportsmanlike conduct
- Control emotions and language

2. **Equipment:**
- Use only approved equipment
- Present racket for inspection when requested
- Do not damage or abuse equipment
- Wear appropriate attire

3. **Prohibited Behavior:**
- Abusive language or gestures
- Intimidation or threatening behavior
- Deliberately delaying play
- Receiving illegal coaching
- Physical violence

**Coach Conduct:**
- Provide appropriate guidance only during permitted times
- Respect officials' decisions
- Support fair play
- No interference with play
- Positive role modeling for juniors

**Official Conduct:**
- Impartial decision making
- Consistent rule application
- Professional demeanor
- Respect for all participants
- Prompt and clear communication

**Spectator Guidelines:**
- Respect players' concentration
- No flash photography during play
- Applause at appropriate times only
- No coaching from spectator area
- Follow venue rules

**Penalties for Violations:**

1. **Warning:**
- First minor offense
- Yellow card shown
- No point penalty

2. **Point Penalty:**
- Second offense or moderate violation
- Opponent awarded one point
- Yellow and red cards shown together

3. **Game Penalty:**
- Serious or third offense
- Opponent awarded game
- Red card shown

4. **Match Penalty:**
- Very serious offense or repeated violations
- Opponent awarded match
- Disqualification from event

5. **Suspension:**
- Severe violations
- Ban from SATTB events (duration determined by committee)
- Loss of ranking points
- May require behavioral counseling

**Reporting Violations:**
- Umpires must report all penalties
- Serious incidents reported to SATTB Disciplinary Committee
- Players can lodge formal complaints within 24 hours
- Investigations conducted for serious allegations

**Appeals Process:**
- Written appeal within 48 hours
- Appeal fee required (refunded if successful)
- Disciplinary Committee review
- Decision is final
