The table tennis table is the playing surface for the sport. The official specifications are:

**Dimensions:**
- Length: 2.74m (9 feet)
- Width: 1.525m (5 feet)
- Height: 76cm (30 inches) from the floor

**Surface Requirements:**
- The upper surface must be rectangular
- Must be uniformly dark colored (usually dark green or blue)
- Must have a matt finish
- Must produce a bounce of approximately 23cm when a standard ball is dropped from 30cm

**Markings:**
- The playing surface is divided into two equal courts by a vertical net
- For doubles, each court is divided by a 3mm white center line running parallel to the sidelines
- All lines must be white and 2cm wide
- The table edges are considered part of the playing surface

**Net Assembly:**
- The net assembly consists of the net, its suspension, and supporting posts
- The net must be suspended by a cord attached at each end to an upright post 15.25cm high
- The outside limits of the post must be 15.25cm outside the sideline

This standard ensures consistency across all official ITTF competitions worldwide.
